The NYX series ToF and RGB cameras have a field of view of 70° (horizontal) by 50° (vertical) and a maximum frame rate of 30fps, making them ideal for fast-moving scenes. Operating with 940nm infrared light, these cameras are versatile for both indoor and outdoor use. Developed with Nuvoton's (formerly Panasonic) pulsed-wave ToF chip technology, the NYX series excels in precise measurements and robust ambient light resistance. They offer a wide dynamic range and meet the IP67 standard for water and dust resistance. Ingenious technical adjustments enable seamless multi-device coexistence without restrictions. The series also boasts exceptional light resistance, allowing smooth operation in low-light and bright-light conditions. The robust housing is dirt- and water-proof and includes an M12 connector, ideal for rigorous industrial applications.
The NYX series includes two models: NYX650 and NYX660. While they are essentially the same in most respects, there are some key distinctions:
IP Rating: The NYX650 has an IP42 rating, while the NYX660 boasts an IP67 rating due to its physical connection method of M12+M8 aviation plugs.
Power Supply Method:Only the NYX660 supports Power over Ethernet (PoE).
Size: Consequently, the NYX650 is slightly smaller than the NYX660.
The table below highlights the main differences between them.

NYX: Revolutionizing Mobile Machine Vision
Thanks to the unique working principle of Pulse iToF, the Vzense NYX Series boasts significant advantages, such as higher frame rates, a better signal-to-noise ratio, stronger light resistance, no motion blur, and support for multi-camera coexistence compared to traditional CW-iToF cameras. This makes it easier to capture the trajectories of fast-moving objects, making it better suited for outdoor environments and all dynamic scenarios. The NYX Series can be widely applied in areas such as people counting, pallet recognition, obstacle avoidance for AGV/AMR/AFT, single item separation in smart logistics, and warehouse slot monitoring.

Strong Robustness against Ambient Light
ToF (Time of Flight) camera technology is an active 3D vision technology that obtains distance by measuring the reflection time of emitted light. Although ToF cameras have narrowband filters to filter out ambient light, this does not completely eliminate the effect of ambient light on ToF cameras, especially in outdoor environments where strong light can cause the ToF camera to malfunction.
Vzense Pulse-based iToF cameras utilize high-energy light pulses emitted in very short bursts during a short integration window. This design enhances the system's robustness against ambient light, making it highly suitable for outdoor applications, can resist ambient light as strong as 100K Lux. Additionally, since the pulse timing and width do not need to be uniform, different timing schemes can be implemented to enable features such as a wider dynamic range. -
High Frame Rate Up to 30fps
Unlike the operation of RGB sensors, Time of Flight (ToF) sensors often require longer exposure times to improve the quality of the depth map. Additionally, they need substantial computation to convert raw data into depth data. This increases the processing time per frame, thereby affecting the frame rate.
In our Pulsed iToF method, the depth measurement is straightforward. The illumination unit switches on and off rapidly, generating short light pulses. The shorter exposure time of Vzense NYX models' P-iToF cameras leads to a higher frame rate and minimizes the effect of motion blur. Therefore, for applications such as people counting and other scenarios that require high speed and accuracy in depth data detection, the NYX series offers significant advantages.
In specific applications, the Vzense NYX series is particularly effective for pallet recognition by unmanned forklifts and navigation and obstacle avoidance for other mobile robots in outdoor environments. It is especially notable for its performance in identifying black pallets under strong ambient light. -
Seamless Multi-Cameras Coexistence
Time of Flight (ToF) camera technology is an active 3D vision technology that obtains distance by measuring the reflection time of emitted light. Therefore, if multiple ToF cameras are working simultaneously in the same space, they are likely to interfere with each other. Solving the issue of multi-device coexistence becomes very important in many application scenarios.
Most multi-camera systems on the market today require precise synchronization through physical connections between cameras or by setting different modulation frequencies to achieve multi-camera coexistence. The setup process is often complex and demands high user proficiency, especially in high-speed scenarios such as AGV/AMR, where cameras cannot be synchronized and modulation frequencies cannot be set. This makes it impossible to freely coordinate different cameras for multi-camera coexistence.
Vzense's multi-camera coexistence technology does not have synchronization restrictions. Cameras can operate completely independently without any special configurations. Through its proprietary avoidance algorithm and timing control, it achieves unique, unlimited multi-camera coexistence, making it particularly advantageous for empowering AGV/AMR applications.Learn how to achieve multiple tof camera coexistences. -
IP67-Rated Camera
The Vzense ToF Camera NYX660 model is designed to withstand harsh environments. Its industrial-grade housing, measuring 131 mm x 50 mm x 44 mm, is corrosion-resistant, shock- and vibration-proof, and water- and dust-proof, meeting the IP67 standard. These robust features make the ToF Camera ideal for mounting on both stationary and mobile robots or vehicles.

Innovative Two-in-One RGB and Depth Camera Design
We recognized early on that integrating a depth camera with an RGB camera would significantly enhance depth measurements. The best part is that you don’t need to externally attach an RGB camera to Vzense’s depth camera, as it is already incorporated into the product. The additional RGB color display facilitates scene understanding for users and simplifies the setup and operation of complex 3D systems.Learn how RGB D camera helps the users.
